May 27, 2026Help Sustain Connection, Learning, and a Welcoming Space for All by June 30th

As Manchester Community Library’s fiscal year comes to a close on June 30, I’m reaching out to ask for your support.
In my first few weeks as MCL’s new Advancement & Communications Director, I’ve been hearing stories that have helped me understand what makes this library so special. One story, in particular, has stayed with me.
Longtime Library patron Joan Blanchard told me, “The Library has changed my life.”
After her children had grown and moved away, Joan found herself looking for more opportunities for connection and community.
With encouragement from a Library board member, she co-founded a book club at the Library with a simple invitation to fellow readers.
This year, the Page Turners Book Club celebrated its fifth anniversary. Today, 29 readers are invited to gather each month, and the group even has a waitlist. Joan described the group as an unexpected opportunity to connect with individuals. Members have formed friendships, celebrated life’s milestones together, and built meaningful connections that extend far beyond the pages of a book.
Stories like Joan’s remind us that libraries are about more than books. They are places where people come together, discover new ideas, and form meaningful connections.
Last year, MCL welcomed nearly 72,000 visits and hosted more than 1,400 programs. Behind every number is a story of someone finding friendship, creativity, learning, or support.
Will you help make more stories like this possible?
Your gift before June 30 helps ensure that Manchester Community Library remains a place where people can learn, create, gather, and belong.
Thank you for being part of this community and for considering sharing a gift today.
Warmly,
Colleen Beamish
Advancement & Communications Director
