Spring is Coming! Stop by the MCL Seed Library
This is a mutual aid project!
Stop by the Library and take as many seeds as you and your family will use, but please consider returning extras so that the Library can share the wealth with our neighbors.
Together, we can create a community of care and support while increasing food security in the Green Mountains.
Color Coding: Planting Timeline
The Seed Library has been color coded this year according to the planting timeline:
 | Plant indoors 10 – 12 weeks before last frost | Plant before March 11 |
 | Plant indoors 8 – 10 weeks before last frost | Plant before March 25 |
 | Plant indoors 4 – 6 weeks before last frost | Plant before April 22 |
 | Plant indoors 1 – 3 weeks before last frost | Plant before May 20 |
The last expected frost for our area is May 20th, 2025.
Plant directly outside after last frost date.
Seeds are resilient, but packets tend to only be viable (have the highest germination success rate) for around five years.
Most of our collection consists of seeds from the 2024/2025 garden season.
