Getting Started with the Palace App
The Palace Project APP is only available for iOS (Apple) and Android mobile platforms (for smartphones and tablets). Set up the Palace Project App using the following steps:
- To get started with the Palace Project, first download the app to your device through the applicable app store (the Apple App Store for iOS or Google Play Store for Android), or visit the website through your mobile device’s browser.
- Once installed onto your device, open your app and scroll through the three introductory slides by swiping left on your screen until the app brings you to a page “Find Your Library”. Select “Find Your Library” and then search for “Manchester Community Library” and click or tap on the result.
- The app will then bring you to the Vermont Department of Libraries’ Palace catalog homepage. You will see our logo with “Manchester Community Library” on the top of your screen. Once you are here, click on “Settings” in the lower right corner of your screen.
- Once you are on the Settings page, click on “Libraries”. Click/tap on “Manchester Community Library”.
- Here, on the Account page, you will need to input your Manchester Community Library card credentials. Enter your 14-digit library card number into the “Barcode” field and your password into the “PIN” field (default passwords are set to your last name, all lowercase, with no spaces or punctuation). Once you have filled out both fields, select “Sign in”.
- When you have successfully logged in, Palace will prompt you to “Enable sync to save your reading position and bookmarks to your other devices”. This is only necessary if you plan to read or listen using the Palace app on multiple devices (for example, sometimes you’ll read on your smartphone and other times you’ll read on your iPad or Android tablet).
- You are then all set to begin checking out digital materials! Go back to the catalog by clicking “Catalog” in the lower left hand corner of your screen.
