Margi has served on the Manchester Community Library Board since 2022. She combines a business background, including leadership in market research, with a deep commitment to education and literacy. She is currently the librarian at Burr and Burton Academy, a position she has held for 10 years.
Her path to the board began during the Library’s 2022 search for a new Executive Director. Margi, an advocate for professional librarianship, joined the candidate review committee and was later invited to serve as a Trustee.
Her long-standing volunteer work includes serving on the boards of Jungle Gym and the Rusty Blades, chairing Zion Preschool, and volunteering for Girls on the Run, Four Winds, Art Enrichment, and more.
Margi values the openness of libraries and appreciates the thoughtful, solutions-oriented approach of MCL’s staff in helping patrons find the resources they need.
While Margi typically prefers discovering new books over re-reading old ones, she makes an exception for Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston, a novel she returns to for its rich language and resonance.
Recently gifted a drum set, Margi is learning to play. She is also a certified BodyPump instructor and co-teaches classes with her two adult children—family time that often includes her husband cheering from the front row.
Margi is driven by a deep commitment and love of lifelong learning and seeks to surround herself with others who share that perspective.
Margi is also the Chair of the Governance Committee and resides in Manchester.
