Melissa has served on the Manchester Community Library Board since 2023, bringing her professional experience in sales and marketing, as well as a deep commitment to community building. She has a natural ability to connect people and ideas and uses that strength to support the Library’s mission.
Her journey to the Board began through hands-on involvement—volunteering at MCL and the Community Food Cupboard. That experience helped her realize the potential for collaboration between local organizations to better serve those in need.
Melissa is active in several nonprofit and civic groups. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Community Food Cupboard and holds leadership roles with the Garden Club of Manchester and the Bennington Chapter UVM Extension Master Gardeners.
What she loves most about the Library is its accessibility and sense of welcome. Melissa especially appreciates the MCL staff’s dedication to helping patrons find the resources they need.
An avid reader, Melissa’s tastes have expanded since joining the MCL Page Turners Book Club. While she once favored mystery and beach reads, she now finds herself drawn to Vermont author Brad Kessler and other thought-provoking writers she’s discovered through the club.
Melissa values reflection and purpose, and being involved in the community has broadened her perspective and brought meaningful connections and personal growth. Her leadership is grounded in thoughtful action and an eagerness to contribute meaningfully to her community.
Melissa is a resident of Manchester.
